Why Should I Attend Preview Day?

RTIM-8

As a Mobilization team at Reaching & Teaching, we love hosting our regional Preview Days! They are a great time of fellowship with like-minded Christians who are eager to grow in their understanding of biblical missions and learn of pathways to being involved through their local church. As we at Reaching & Teaching seek to support like-minded churches in doing the work of the Great Commission, we desire to clearly communicate our convictions regarding the Scriptural definition and structure of the local church, biblical missions, and the interdependent relationship between the two. Whether you desire to see your church grow in mobilizing missionaries around the world, or you are considering long-term missions yourself, Preview Day is a great place to start.

So, what does one 8-5 day spent with RTIM look like?

Grow in a biblical understanding of missions

Our time together will be spent growing our understanding of ecclesiology and allowing that to shape and inform our understanding of biblical missions. Through the lens of Scripture, we seek to faithfully answer questions like:

  • What is the role of the church in the Great Commission?
  • What is the role of a para-church organization in the Great Commission?
  • Who should be sent out from our congregations?
  • What qualifications should I aspire to if I want to serve on the mission field?

Not only will you hear from RTIM staff members on these questions, but also from some of the faithful pastors of our sending churches who have put great thought and study into these questions, and many more.

Discover RTIM’s DNA

With a biblical framework of ecclesiology set as our foundation, we will share how Reaching & Teaching comes alongside local churches in the work of the Great Commission. You will hear from our president, Ryan Robertson, on our narrow theological and doctrinal convictions and broad scope of ministry opportunities on the field. Consider this the look under the hood before jumping in the car; it is a great time to ask your questions and get a look at the inner workings of RTIM and what makes us tick.

Connect with like-minded Christians

Preview Day is a wonderful time of fellowship with like-minded Christians who have a similar excitement for the Great Commission as you do. We love to watch as friendships and connections are formed between churches and individuals, and eagerly anticipate seeing what the Lord will do through those connections in years to come. As we dwell on Scripture together, pray, share a meal, and talk about the work the Lord is doing through his church around the world, we pray that you will walk away edified and encouraged by other faithful brothers and sisters in Christ.

Learn how you can partner with us

If your head is tired from nodding ‘yes’ with us by the end of the day, we are happy to share many opportunities we are aware of for you and your church to get involved in Great Commission work around the world. RTIM is eager to come alongside your church as you faithfully disciple people towards the mission field. You will have the opportunity to connect with your regional mobilizer and start laying out the next steps for involvement.

Whether you are an elder seeking to encourage your church to be Great Commission-minded, or you aspire to serve long-term on the mission field yourself, we hope to see you at one of our upcoming Preview Days and eagerly anticipate meeting you!
