J & S, with their four kids, have been serving in the Himalayan mountains as pioneer church planters for nearly a decade. Fueled by the worth of Christ they have sought with a Pauline ambition to preach the gospel “where Christ has [not] already been named” (Rom 15:20). They labor to see Christ establish His church among remote village peoples where He is not yet worshiped, where there is no church, and often where no one has even heard His name. Their work is both reaching (gospel proclamation, spearheading into new places) and teaching (disciple making and pastoral training in a church plant alongside national partners). They have been doing foundation laying work among a small group of baptized believers in the church plant in their community that covenanted together in 2022 and appointed its first local elder in 2023. J has a passion to equip national pastors to faithfully understand and communicate God’s word in pioneer church planting contexts so that Christ is magnified in His church. “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain!” (Rev 5:12)
