C & S have spent the past two years in training for church planting amongst an Unreached language group. The first year was spent in a missions training school in South America, focused on language and culture, biblical missions practices and suffering for the kingdom. This past year C participated in a pastoral internship in the Middle East, focused on theology, cross-cultural church planting, and pastoral care. They are now heading to a remote location in Southeast Asia. Upon arrival they will begin learning the first language and once fluent will seek to move into the final context in order to take the Gospel to an unreached and unengaged language group, joining another family that is already there. Their goal is to be used by the Father in order to see a biblical, healthy, local church that seeks to participate in great commission work, teach and train its members, and displays Christ to the onlooking world. C & S understand that a deep language/cultural understanding is required as well as a life that represents the Father well. They know this must be granted as all things by the Father. Upon fluency they will share the gospel and seek to plant a healthy, lasting, local evangelical church, in an unreached and unengaged language group. They seek to train locals who meet the qualifications of elders to oversee the church long after them. This will require language fluency, literacy programs, Bible translation, and more.
